Golf

Scotland is the home of golf and you'll certainly find plenty of superb golfing opportunities in Argyll, the Isles, Loch Lomond, Stirling & Trossachs, especially if you are looking for good golf, spectacular scenery and a warm welcome.There are 55 golf courses located throughout the area, ranging from an excellent 18-hole course overlooked by Stirling Castle to the dramatic and demanding Machrihanish, close to the Mull of Kintyre. For those seeking a less demanding round, try one of the many 9 hole courses of offer. Alternatively there are the more unique challenges of the 6 hole course on the Isle of Eriska near Oban or the 13 hole course at Port Bannatyne, Isle of Bute. Wherever you play in this unique area, you'll leave with lasting memories of experiencing one of Scotland's most welcoming and picturesque regions.

Walking

One of the best ways to explore this stunning area is on foot. And here, where the Highlands meet the Lowlands, youâll find walks to suit everyone from those who prefer a gentle ramble to the most dedicated 'munro bagger'.

There are way-marked paths such as the famous West Highland Way, which runs along the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, the Lowland Highland Trail through rural Stirlingshire, plus many other forest paths to suit the casual walker. For those interested in tackling more mountainous terrain, the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire and the Trossachs area are both excellent choices.
